Simple and Delicious Fruit Crumble

This is my mom's (shout out Mama Dumke) go to recipe for a fruity dessert.  It is classically made with frozen strawberries mixed with rhubarb, but any berry/apple/peach/other fruit combination works great!  Topped with a warm cake-mix topper, a pat of butter, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream...wow!!!!!  So easy and so good!

Oatmeal Cookie Ice Cream Sandwiches

After spending some time in the San Francisco bay area, we here at 51 Porter have a soft spot for It's It Ice Cream Sandwiches. Now that we're living on the East Coast, we've taken it upon ourselves to recreate the warm and fuzzy feeling an oatmeal cookie ice cream sandwich can bring. If you've had the real deal It's It, you'll notice that ours isn't chocolate dipped, but to make up for this lack of chocolate the oatmeal cookies have chocolate chips baked into them, and chocolate chips are added as a garnish to the ice cream...so we think we've covered the chocolate front.

Roasted Shrimp & Parmesan-crusted Tomatoes

First attempt at shrimp... a seemingly daunting task. Shrimp are actually quite easy to prepare, but you just have to be cautious not to overcook these little crustaceans. Perhaps the most simple and one of the most flavorful methods is to roast shrimp...a drizzle of olive oil, a dash of garlic, and 8 minutes in a hot oven. Pair with roasted parmesan-crusted tomatoes for a savory, summery supper!

It will surely fulfill your longing for something sweet and full of butter, and it's so easy to make that you'll be eating this pancake before you'd even get a seat at the restaurant.

Veggie Burgers with Parmesan Parsnip Fries & Avocado Pesto

What do you get when you take leftover ingredients from Cinco de Mayo and a 51 Porter Guac-off? ...Perhaps one of the most delicious veggie burgers with a Mexican twist.  White beans and sweet potatoes combine with cilantro, garlic, broccoli, and corn to make the base of a fantastic vegetable patty.  Half an avocado blended with cilantro, garlic, lime juice, and feta combine to make the perfect dipping sauce.  A side of crisp roasted parsnip and sweet potato fries with a special dipping sauce serve as the perfect accompaniment.

Tapas & Sangria

Tapas refers to small dishes often served in Spain. They may be cold or warm, fried or sauteed.  Classic combinations include chickpeas, spinach, and garlic; roasted potatoes and tomatoes; or simply cold olives or cheeses.  51 Porter goes for a tapas twist complete with a pitcher of homemade Sangria and a sunset over Porter Road.
